Locker likely to start for Titans

Jake Locker appears on track to start for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Locker, who will wear a knee brace on his sprained right knee, got the majority of reps on Friday, and per TitanInsider, made it through the week with no setbacks, setting him up to make the start after missing just two games with knee and hip injuries suffered against the New York Jets three weeks ago.

Most had believed Locker would be out until after the Titans bye week next week, but his work through the week, combined with the struggles of backup Ryan Fitzpatrick, have opened the door for him to play vs. the 49ers.

Ironically, last year, Locker missed five games with a separated shoulder and returned the week before the bye to play aginst Miami when most thought he would not play in that game either.
