Report: Giants optimistic Kenny Golladay nursing minor injury

The New York Giants are optimistic that prize offseason acquisition Kenny Golladay’s hamstring injury isn’t too serious, The Athletic reported Wednesday morning.

Golladay will undergo additional tests after sustaining the injury during Tuesday’s practice.

The 27-year-old Golladay signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Giants.

Golladay recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2018-19 with the Detroit Lions before missing 11 games in 2020 with hip and hamstring injuries.

He caught 20 passes for 338 yards and two touchdowns in five starts last season.

A third-round pick in 2017 and a Pro Bowl selection in 2019, Golladay has 183 receptions for 3,068 yards and 21 touchdowns in 47 games (39 starts) with the Lions. He led the NFL with 11 touchdown catches in 2019.
