Report: Jaguars signing veteran WR Anthony Miller

The Jacksonville Jaguars plan to sign veteran wide receiver Anthony Miller to their practice squad, NFL Network reported Monday.

A former second-round pick by the Chicago Bears, Miller was released by Houston last week after catching five passes for 23 yards and one touchdown in two games with the Texans in 2021.

Miller, who turned 27 on Saturday, has 139 career catches for 1,587 yards and 12 touchdowns in 49 games (18 starts) with the Bears (2018-20) and Texans.

Chicago traded Miller to the Texans in July in a deal that included a swap of late-round draft picks.

The Jaguars (0-5) take a 20-game losing streak into Sunday’s clash in London against the Miami Dolphins (1-4).

Texans WR Anthony Miller to have MRI on injured shoulder

Houston Texans newly acquired wide receiver Anthony Miller suffered a slight dislocation of his shoulder during Saturday night’s preseason game and will undergo an MRI.

Miller suffered the injury in the third quarter on a tackle after hauling in a pass. He walked off but was later taken by cart to the locker room.

“They’re going to do an MRI with him just to make sure,” Texans coach David Culley said. “He’s had a previous injury before, and they think he dislocated that thing again.”

Miller caught two passes for 15 yards on three targets prior to leaving the game.

The Texans acquired Miller from Chicago late last month.

Miller had 49 catches for 485 yards and two touchdowns last season. For his career, Miller has 134 catches for 1,564 yards and 11 scores in three seasons.

Reports: Bears trade WR Anthony Miller to Texans

The Chicago Bears have traded wide receiver Anthony Miller to the Houston Texans in a deal that includes a swap of late-round draft picks, multiple outlets reported.

Miller, 26, is in the final year of his rookie deal, which he signed after the Bears traded up to take him in the second round in 2018.

Miller had 49 catches for 485 yards and two touchdowns last season. He was tossed from the Bears’ 21-9 loss in an NFC Wild Card game against the New Orleans Saints last January after shoving defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson in the second half.

For his career, Miller has 134 catches for 1,564 yards and 11 scores in three seasons.

Miller apparently endorsed the move with a tweet late Saturday that read “Houston Let’s Get It!!!!!!”

The Texans now have 13 wide receivers on their roster, including 2021 third-rounder Nico Collins.
