Niners’ Nick Bosa, Jimmy Garoppolo both practice

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and pass rusher Nick Bosa were both full participants at practice Thursday.

Bosa, however, is officially listed as questionable to play in Saturday night’s divisional playoff game at Green Bay.

Bosa suffered a concussion in last week’s wild-card win over Dallas and missed the second half. Garoppolo sprained his right shoulder in the contest while already nursing an injury to the thumb on his throwing hand.

Defensive lineman Jordan Willis (ankle) and cornerback Ambry Thomas (knee) are also questionable after being limited in practice.

Star linebacker Fred Warner (ankle) and top running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) were full participants.

Reports: 49ers reach 5-year extension with ILB Fred Warner

The San Francisco 49ers and All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner reached an agreement on a five-year extension, ESPN and NFL Network reported Wednesday.

The deal is worth $95 million with $40.5 million in guaranteed money, per the reports.

The deal makes him the highest-paid inside linebacker in the league in contract value and average annual salary, according to Spotrac. New York Jets ILB C.J. Mosley was No. 1 with $85 million in total value, and Seattle’s Bobby Wagner is now second behind Warner in AAV with $18 million.

Warner, 24, is entering the final year of his rookie contract. The extension keeps him under contract in San Francisco through the 2026 season.

Warner earned first team All-Pro honors and was named to the Pro Bowl after the 2020 season. He recorded 125 tackles to go with two interceptions, six passes defensed, a sack and seven quarterback hits. He also had a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

Warner has played in and started all 48 games since the Niners selected him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of BYU. He played 94 percent of the snaps on defense in 2020.

49ers place starting LB Warner on COVID-19 list

The San Francisco 49ers placed starting linebacker Fred Warner on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Monday.

Warner missed practice on Sunday but the team didn’t list a reason.

He is the only player currently on the list. Wide receiver Richie James and running back Jeff Wilson were put on the list in July but were removed on Aug. 4.

The list is for players who either have tested positive or been quarantined due to close contact with a person who has the coronavirus. NFL clubs are not permitted to disclose which condition applies to a player on the list.

Warner, 23, was selected by the 49ers in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He’s been a key contributor since, starting all 32 regular-season games. He’s made 242 tackles (10 for loss) and added three sacks. He returned his lone career interception 46 yards for a touchdown in a win against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 21.

He also intercepted a Patrick Mahomes pass in the 49ers’ Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in February.

The 49ers are scheduled to host the Arizona Cardinals to open the season on Sept. 13.
