Report: Lions CB Emmanuel Moseley (ACL) out for season

Detroit Lions cornerback Emmanuel Moseley tore his ACL just minutes after returning from a previous knee injury, multiple outlets reported Monday.

Moseley, 27, was injured just two plays into his season debut in Sunday’s 42-24 victory against the visiting Carolina Panthers.

The latest injury occurred 364 days after he tore the ACL in his left knee, also against the Panthers, while playing for the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 9, 2022.

“I know on tape or the replay it certainly didn’t look good, but we won’t know a ton until we get the MRI, which will probably be (Monday) afternoon,” head coach Dan Campbell said after Sunday’s game.

The Lions signed Moseley to a reported one-year, $6 million deal in March. He missed all of training camp after a cleanup procedure this summer on his left knee.

Moseley has recorded 162 tackles, 33 passes defensed and four interceptions in 46 games (33 starts) for Detroit and San Francisco (2018-22).

Lions placing CB Emmanuel Moseley on PUP list

The Detroit Lions are placing cornerback Emmanuel Moseley on the physically unable to perform list.

Head coach Dan Campbell confirmed the news on Sunday prior to the start of training camp.

Moseley, 27, is still working his way back from a torn ACL in his left knee, sustained last October.

The Lions signed Moseley to a one-year, $6 million deal in free agency in March.

He played in 45 games (33 starts) over five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, registering four interceptions and 162 tackles.

Reports: 49ers CB Emmanuel Moseley (ACL) out for season

An MRI confirmed that San Francisco 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley suffered a torn ACL and he will miss the rest of the season, multiple outlets reported Monday.

Moseley returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter of Sunday’s 37-15 victory against the Carolina Panthers.

He sustained a knee injury in the fourth quarter and head coach Kyle Shanahan said the team feared the worst.

“It was tough at the end,” Shanahan told reporters after the game in Charlotte. “It was a weird feeling watching E-man. It definitely took away a little from the excitement.”

Moseley, 26, started the first five games this season and registered 21 tackles, five passes defensed and a pick. He has 161 tackles and four interceptions in 45 games (33 starts) since joining the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2018.

San Francisco safety Jimmie Ward suffered a broken hand in the game. Defensive end Nick Bosa (groin) and kicker Robbie Gould (knee) also sustained injuries and will have further tests Monday.

49ers agree to two-year deal with CB Emmanuel Moseley

The San Francisco 49ers agreed to a two-year, $10.1-million deal with cornerback Emmanuel Moseley, according to multiple reports Friday.

Moseley was slated to become a restricted free agency.

The former undrafted free agent has started 17 regular-season games over the past two seasons for the 49ers.

Moseley, 24, had 98 tackles and two interceptions in 29 games in his three seasons with San Francisco.

Following the 2019 season, he had an interception in the NFC title game victory over the Green Bay Packers. He also started in the Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, when he had five tackles.
