Ravens WR James Proche to miss 1-2 weeks

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver James Proche will miss “a week or two” with a soft-tissue injury, head coach John Harbaugh said Friday.

“It’s not going to be too long,” Harbaugh said.

Proche, 25, did not play in Thursday night’s 23-10 preseason victory against the Tennessee Titans.

The 2020 sixth-round pick has 17 catches for 216 yards and no touchdowns in 14 career games with the Ravens.

Fellow wideout Tylan Wallace exited Thursday’s game with what Harbaugh called a minor knee sprain after catching one pass for 3 yards.

Wallace, 23, was a fourth-round pick in 2021 and caught two passes for 23 yards in 17 games last season.

In the club’s first official depth chart released Aug. 5, Proche and Wallace were listed as the backups to starters Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay.

Ravens activate three WRs from reserve/COVID-19 list

Three days after placing the three receivers on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Baltimore Ravens activated Marquise Brown, Miles Boykin and James Proche on Saturday.

All three are on track to play when the Ravens (8-5) host the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-12) on Sunday afternoon.

None of the players tested positive for the coronavirus but were placed on the list as close contacts of an infected individual, coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday.

Brown, who is tied for the team lead with 43 catches and has a team-leading 605 receiving yards, scored a crucial touchdown in the Ravens’ 47-42 victory over Cleveland on Monday night.

Boykin has 16 receptions for 206 yards, while Proche is averaging 8.3 yards on 21 punt returns.

Baltimore activated wideout Dez Bryant from the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week.
