Reports: Eagles RB D’Andre Swift (illness) to miss finale vs. Giants

Philadelphia Eagles running back D’Andre Swift is expected to sit out Sunday’s game against the host New York Giants due to an illness, multiple media outlets reported.

Swift was added to the injury report as questionable on Friday for the game in East Rutherford, N.J.

Kenny Gainwell, Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny likely will see an uptick in snaps in place of Swift, who leads the team in carries (229) and rushing yards (1,049). Swift also has five rushing touchdowns.

The Eagles (11-5) will try to sweep their NFC East rivals and collect their first road win since Nov. 20 when they face the Giants (5-11).

Despite a 1-4 December, a win still could give Philadelphia its second straight division title if the Dallas Cowboys (11-5) stumble at Washington (4-12). Otherwise, the Eagles could be looking at the NFC’s No. 5 seed and a road game to start the postseason.
